DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL – Weekends and Part-time Opportunities available

Responsibilities:

1) Maintain a safe, healthy, pleasant, and homelike environment for each individual.
2) Provide training, supports, transportation, and assistance for each individual to enable her/him to complete daily routines in a safe, healthy, productive and dignified manner. This usually includes toileting, bathing, dressing, laundry, recreation, community outings, etc.
3) Encourage independence by providing both the opportunity and the appropriate levels of skill training.
4) Administer medication, assists with medical appointments.
5) Maintain the overall operation of the home, program, or vehicle(s)
6) Ensure accurate documentation of all messages, observations, significant events etc.

Qualifications:

1) A high school diploma or GED is required. Experience in a related field is preferred.
2) Must be fully vaccinated or provide a valid exemption.
3) Valid Driver’s License required with a clean driving record.
4) Ability to navigate and input data in a computer is required.

 

Program Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Supervisor for our Day Programs. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the day to day operations of services, while on shift, to include but not limited to the following: providing supports, direct care, medical supervision, staff supervision, skills training and compliance oversight.

This is an in-person position at our Day program locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides daily supervision of service functions and activities.
Coordinates with management staff in developing activities and calendars.
Develops the daily schedules with staff and consumers assignments.
·Ensures that the services are provided in accordance with The Arc of Essex County policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
Ensures appropriate medical scripts and medication for individuals are received, administered and stored safely per DDD standards.
Ensures health and safety of consumers in the vocational services are met in accordance with DDD, state and federal regulations.
Provides direct care to support consumer needs.
Supervises direct care staff tasks assigned in accordance with agency policies, applicable laws, and CBA.
Develops, implements and supervises the completion of goals and objectives stated in the ISP.
Participates, as directed by the Program Manager, in the ISP process.
Follows, implements, and supervises all protocol and procedures in accordance with the Day Supports Program Policies & Procedures Manual.
Maintains a professional relationship with families, Case Managers, guardians, medical care providers, contract providers, and other interested persons.
Periodically works at other locations as assigned.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Education / Work Experience / Skills:

BA or BS in Special Education, Recreation Management, or Psychology preferred
At least 1 year of management or leadership experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
At least 2 years of experience with Program development with ISP/IEP
