The Arc released the following statement following the death of President George H.W. Bush.

This landmark law is one of the ways in which our country leads the world in respecting and valuing the lives of people with disabilities. We salute the important impact that President Bush’s commitment to civil rights will continue to make in the lives of people with disabilities for many generations to come,” said Peter V. Berns, CEO of The Arc.
